Risk & Regulatory Disclaimer
Last updated 6 September 2026
The short version
- TradeTattva Journal shows you your own past trades. It never tells you what to buy or sell.
- We are not a SEBI-registered investment adviser or research analyst, and we do not need to be, because we make no recommendations.
- Numbers shown in marketing screenshots are sample data, not real performance and not a promise.
- Charges and tax figures are estimates. Your contract note is the authority.
1. Not investment advice
Nothing in TradeTattva Journal — no statistic, chart, tag, grade, streak or summary — is investment advice, a recommendation, a solicitation, or an offer to buy or sell any security. The product analyses transactions you have already executed elsewhere. It has no view on any instrument and produces no forward-looking signal.
Any decision you take after reading your own statistics is your decision. Consult a SEBI-registered adviser if you want advice.
2. Our regulatory position, stated plainly
- TradeTattva Journal is not registered with SEBI as an Investment Adviser or as a Research Analyst, and does not hold itself out as either.
- It is not a broker, sub-broker, portfolio manager, or research entity. It does not route orders, hold funds or securities, or execute anything.
- It does not manage money, pool money, or accept money for investment on anyone's behalf.
- It publishes no buy or sell calls, no target prices, no stock tips, and no trading signals — free or paid.
If that ever changes, this page changes first.
3. No performance claims
We make no claim that using a journal will make you profitable. We do not publish user returns, leaderboards, or aggregate statistics drawn from user journals, and we do not advertise outcomes. Any performance figure you see in a screenshot, on a marketing page, or in demo mode is synthetic sample data, labelled as such wherever it appears, and represents nobody's actual trading.
Past performance — yours or anyone's — does not indicate future results.
4. Accuracy of the numbers
TradeTattva Journal computes from the file you give it. Two consequences follow, and both matter:
- Garbage in, garbage out. An incomplete or edited tradebook produces confident-looking statistics about a book that is not yours.
- Charges are estimates. Brokerage, exchange transaction charges, STT, stamp duty, SEBI turnover fees and GST are computed from published schedules and are labelled as estimates in the interface. They can differ from what your broker actually charged.
Your broker's contract note is the authoritative record of what you traded and what it cost. Your tax position is a matter for you and your tax adviser; nothing here is tax advice, and the app's figures are not a filing.
5. Market risk
Trading and investing in securities, and particularly in derivatives, involves substantial risk of loss. Leverage magnifies both gains and losses, and a majority of individual derivative traders in India lose money. Trade only with capital you can afford to lose. A journal can help you see what you did; it cannot make a losing approach profitable, and it is not a risk-management system.
6. No affiliation
TradeTattva Journal is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any broker, exchange, depository or regulator. Broker names appear only to describe the file formats the importer understands and the instruments in your book. All trademarks belong to their owners.
7. Third-party and market data
Features that would require licensed exchange market data are deliberately switched off and labelled in the interface with the reason, rather than shipped against data we are not licensed to redistribute. If a feature says it needs licensed market data, that is the literal truth and not a paywall.
